The Gelato Edit
Regal purple.
Good Herb.
Your way of wearing it.
Look closely at Gelato. Dark leaves open across violet, curling into the kind of ornament you might expect on a vintage silk scarf. Then you recognize the leaf.
That’s the pleasure of it: a lush, dressed-up print with Herb right in the middle. We’ve put it on a cropped bolero, an off-shoulder maxi, and a rib-knit dress with a high side slit.
The inspiration
Regal, with Herb
in the details.
The reference is Gianni Versace-era maximalism: lavish ornament, saturated colour and the confidence to wear both at once. Versace’s heritage-print guide connects its Barocco vocabulary to classical imagery and curling acanthus leaves. In Gelato, our eye goes to another leaf entirely.
Herb botanicals sit inside sweeping, decorative foliage. Deep purple on violet gives the pattern its richness; the familiar leaf gives it the Jane Dope wink. From across the room, you get the colour. Up close, you see the Herb.
We like it with gold jewellery, a hit of lemon or mint, and the kind of flash that catches every detail. A little glamour on an ordinary sofa. No need to wait for the velvet rope.

The cropped bolero
A stand collar, short sleeves and one white button give the Gelato Cropped Bolero Jacket its shape. The front stays open below the button, leaving room for another colour underneath.
Take the white tank, tartan trousers and combat boots in our editorial as a starting point. Or swap the tartan for faded jeans. The cropped cut keeps the purple concentrated up top; you can decide how much else to throw into the mix.

The off-shoulder maxi
The Gelato Off-Shoulder Long Sleeve Maxi Dress gives the botanical print a longer canvas. A straight off-shoulder neckline, long sleeves and a fitted maxi shape keep the outline simple enough to see the ornament.
Chunky gold and a leopard bag make sense here. So do green sandals or earrings in a colour you haven’t worn in a while. Bare shoulders leave plenty of room for jewellery; restraint is entirely optional.

The high-slit dress
The Gelato High Slit Long Sleeve Dress pairs a crew neckline and long sleeves with a high side slit. Its ribbed knit gives this version a different fabric texture from the maxi.
Gold sandals pick up the warmth of a dressing-room mirror. Black boots put more weight at the hem. Either way, the purple botanical print runs through the whole look, so even the simplest styling has something to look at.

A name with roots
Yes, that Gelato.
In Herb culture, Gelato has a family tree. Sherbinskis traces it to Sunset Sherbert and Thin Mint Cookies, with selections including Bacio and Mochi.
For Jane Dope, the name belongs alongside a print that puts Herb inside all that regal decoration. Look again at those scrolling leaves. Herb is part of the print, right there among the ornament.
Dress accordingly.
Start with the piece you want to wear. Add the earrings you keep reaching for, the shoes that change how you stand, the bag that clashes just enough.
Gelato supplies the purple and the Herb. The rest is yours.
YOU DECIDE WHO YOU ARE.
